Jeff has always been interested in the world of animals. Growing up in the south suburbs of Chicago, he found himself snake hunting, caring for his tropical fish, and racing his cat (Tiger) home from the neighbor's house. There were also toads, frogs, hamsters, newts, turtles, and whatever else he could find in the area. Eventually, that translated to a love for dogs which included Mr. Moose, Ebony, Hercules, and more recently Fiona (see Fiona's story below), Kora, Lucky, and Caido.
He has been training dogs professionally since 2011, starting in Illinois then moving to Tennessee. Jeff is a Certified Dog Trainer (CDT) through the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), as well as being a professional member of the organization. He contributed to the Chattanooga Times Free Press "4Paws" section of the paper, answering questions about dog training and behavioral problems in the "Ask A Trainer" column, as well as being published in the IACP Journal publication, "In Safe Hands." Additionally, he answered questions about dog training as a career in the "Cool Jobs" section of the Tennessee Valley Parents magazine. Jeff and Fiona were a therapy dog team for several years with (Human Animal Bond in Tennessee (H.A.B.I.T.), and also trained with the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dogs for a brief period of time.
To help dog owners and their canine companions achieve that relational sweet-spot by providing effective training, clear communication, and relentless pursuit of the desired vision, with honesty, integrity, creativity, and results that deliver happiness.

In December of 2009, we picked up Fiona from Orphans of the Storm in Vernon Hills, IL. She was estimated to be about 6 months old and was a typical, energetic puppy. Chewing was the one bad habit she had. Well, she jumped on people, too. Through training she earned her Canine Good Citizen title and eventually became a therapy dog with Human Animal Bond in Tennessee (H.A.B.I.T.) in the Ruff Reading Program, where elementary school children would take turns reading to her. We miss her, and she was truly "Everyone's Friend."
Fiona loved being outside
Although we miss greatly miss Fiona, Nixie has agreed to become our next therapy dog, serving the community. Follow her on Facebook (videos, photos, and antics) by clicking the button below.
One of our other dogs was very athletic, until she was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. She was given about six months to live, but the "Dog of Steel" pushed through for another 2 1/2 years with meds, monthly abdominal drainage, and lots of love.
