I would highly recommend Blue Bridge Dog Training to anyone!  Jeff is very knowledgeable on how to properly train a dog. He is gentle but firm.  I believe Benji respected him. I had tried two other trainers but they did not compare with the training he received with Blue Bridge. The facility was excellent. Carol 

Miller had issues with confidence, listening and not paying attention to me. I sent him for the 4 week private board and train. He came back a different dog. He listens, does not immediately sprint outside, and knows his basic commands. I’ve continued to work with him on off leash training and feel comfortable taking him to parks and he continues to go to work with me in an office (he used to be a trash can bandit). He wasn’t a terrible dog, just needed structure! Working  with Jeff was amazing! Miller is a Springer Spaniel, so he has energy to spare. Jeff had a meet and greet with us, sent videos throughout his time training and also provided weekly text updates. I always felt comfortable texting and checking in.  I’m actually sending my second springer back to him this summer. If you are local, but also willing to travel, Blue Bridge is a great program for you and your dog. I cannot recommend this training program enough. Miller is not anything more than a pet, but the training I wanted for him was more than I could provide. The investment in your dog with Blue Bridge is definitely worth it. Casey

After her training Maggie was totally different in a good way. She was still the sweet, loving friendly dog, but she no longer pulled and tugged on her leash when walking and no longer jumped up on me. She also did not paw and claw my thigh when I was sitting, scratching my thigh. She is greatly improved in her obedience. She stays in the kitchen and I no longer have to lock the gait going into the hall for the rest of the house. She is a very smart dog and had learned how to open it with her paws. Now she no longer even tries. I can leave the door ajar with a 1 inch crack and she does not leave the kitchen. McKinley

We have had two other trainers that were not able to help us with Sophia's behavior. Sophia is high energy and strong willed. We heard about Jeff Leavitt, owner of Blue Bridge Dog Training. We invited Jeff to meet Sophia. When Jeff came to our home, Sophia sensed he was serious. So, within minutes, she knew something was up. When Jeff spoke to her, she was listening. We decided to sign a contract with Jeff for the two-week training course. Nine personal visits to our home and one week at his kennel. Jeff provided us with Training tools, Education kit and training videos. As Jeff trained, he would always provide us with feedback and suggestions. The two big issues with Sophia were her jealous of my husband talking to me or coming near me and running to the door when someone rang the doorbell.

When I would come home from work, Sophia would bark and bit my husband if he spoke to me or came near me. Jeff explained that Sophia viewed my husband as a “pack equal” and did not obey any commands he gave her. Sophia did not want anyone near me after being gone all day. Jeff was successful in helping us correct Sophia’s jealousy. We saw a significant improvement in Sophia’s disposition, and we asked Jeff if he would continue with private lessons at our home, one day a week. He agreed. We are extremely fortunate to have found Jeff and so excited for him to agree for additional training.

We have a split-level home. When someone would ring the doorbell, Sophia will run down the stairs and straight to the door, barking uncontrollable. If anyone came in, Sophia would jump up on them. Jeff worked with Sophia. He used the command “Hold UP" at the top of the stairs. Then he would invite our neighbor to come to our home, ring the doorbell and then come in. Sophia was told to “hold up” and when the doorbell rang, she did stay in that position. Our neighbor came in walked up the steps and petted Sophia. Sophia did no jump up, she stayed with all four paws on the floor. She is doing very well at this. 

Going forward, Jeff recommended we read the book called "The Art of Training Your Dog". My husband is still reading though this book which is professionally written. Our vet told us she can tell Sophia has been trained, she is doing better when she comes for her health visits. We take Sophia for walks in our subdivision and the neighbors will come out and say hello. Sophia will stay with her four paws on the pavement and the neighbor will give her a treat. Big improvement. We are so pleased to have found Jeff and for all he has done to help Sophia learn how to behave. They say it is the owners that to be trained, not the dog. Thank you, Jeff, for helping us. Aidan’s issue was aggression. I had to stop taking him for walks on the River Walk because he was hard to control and there were several bad situations that were very upsetting. I sent him to another trainer about two years before and he was taught to obey, but aggression was not improved. I did some research for a dog training program that had good reviews. Blue Bridge seemed to stand out from the rest. He stayed for two weeks with the main goal of being able to take him out in public and for walks. He was a different dog when we picked him up. Jeff took a lot of time going over everything they had worked on and what we needed to work on when we got him home. I could tell that Aidan liked him and was very comfortable with him. Jeff was great! I worked with him for 12 sessions and he listened to all of my concerns and then addressed each and every one accordingly. I got so much more info and expertise by doing one on one training vs sending my dog off somewhere for a month of training in my opinion. It is great now going for walks and there is zero pulling on the leash but if there were I'd know what to do. I can take Blue out in the side yard or back yard and she comes to me when she's called. When we started out I wanted my dog to be off leash and she is now. That's not to say I don't have to work with her anymore because I do but that's the fun part. Jeff makes training fun. We traveled from out-of-state to work with Jeff and are so glad we did! Jeff was very accommodating and willing to adjust his schedule to work with us. He is very kind and definitely knows what he's doing! The results we experienced speak for themselves. We had hit some roadblocks in training our dog Sadie and wanted a trainer whose training philosophy was the same as what we had already been using to help us. Sadie was a very easily-distracted dog and, when taking walks or going out in public, would lose focus on us or on whatever command we had given her, get overly excited, and go toward the dog or person she wanted to see. Our goal is to have her fully responsive when off leash in highly distracting environments, and these behaviors have to be changed in order for us to achieve this goal. Jeff helped us learn how to better communicate what we want with her very quickly! He was very kind yet firm. We were able to successfully take her on walking trails around other people and dogs, into Lowes, and even Petco (which was usually a nightmare and not worth even attempting)!
