Jeff was an excellent trainer for me and my newly adopted 1 year old beagle “ Buddy”. He explains very clearly your dogs mentality and teaches you how to communicate your expectations to your dog. Our dog had bad habits from a previous owner and did not get along with other dogs. He was hard to walk in any setting where other dogs were likely to be around. After spending ten days with Jeff, our dog's behavior has changed. More specifically, we are now able to communicate to our dog what we expect. We cannot say enough about the many ways Blue Bridge Training has benefitted our family! Baden came to us about a year old with no prior discipline, manners, or even much attention being paid to him by his owners. He was pretty much left to make his own decisions on what was acceptable doggie behavior and you can imagine how that developed. We weren't sure we could even keep him because his behavior was so out of control and exhausting; he couldn't manage leash walking or even getting out the door without barreling through, he was overly excited when company came, even feeding time was chaos. We knew there was a puppy in him wanting to please and be settled but had no idea how to get through to him. We signed up for the Superior Program after meeting with Jeff and believing he saw the same potential in Baden. We dropped off an unsettled, rude and rowdy pup and 18 days later we brought home a settled, secure, well mannered pup who was eager to show all he had learned with Jeff. We also brought home the skills to follow up and maintain Baden's training which not only helps to reinforce all he has learned but has strengthened our bond with Baden through the time spent and trust built as we continue his training. Since his time with Blue Bridge, Baden is a much calmer and happier dog. We believe the structure we all learned from training with Jeff has done wonders for giving Baden the security he needed to relax and settle into being a much loved part of our family. Jeff has been available any time we have had follow up questions since the initial training and he has been invested in Baden's (and our) success from day one - he even celebrates Baden's milestones with us when we share video clips! We had Jeff work with our dog Cole on some behavioral and anxiety issues. Jeff was patient and understanding with both Cole and ourselves, and provided excellent instruction, feedback, and ideas to help Cole behave better both in public and at home. Jeff is an excellent dog trainer, and his experience is evident. We genuinely appreciate the time he spent working with Cole and are happy to say that Cole is now a much better behaved and social dog. We adopted a Black Lab mix from the HES, and she is extremely strong willed. Lacy was very destructive, aggressive, guarding, and difficult to train. We had no success training her even though we took her to a group dog training program. We decided to hire a professional dog trainer and selected Jeff Leavitt. He created a customized board and train program followed by training sessions at our home. He did a very good job of instructing us in training Lacy. Jeff was always on time and did a great job of communicating with us during the process. He sent us videos during her training at the facility which were wonderful for us to see progress and how she was doing. Lacy is still very strong willed, but Jeff has trained her to where she is now very manageable, and we have to carry on his training techniques. Now we are able to enjoy Lacy as a pet. We would heartily recommend Jeff as a Professional dog trainer. He delivered more than he promised and always took all time necessary in our home training sessions. Steele

Jeff was great to work with. He answered all of our questions in depth and made us feel comfortable to leave our puppy with him. The training facility Is very clean, organized, and spacious. During Karma’s training he checked in regularly with progress updates. Before training with Blue Bridge she was all over the place and pulling during walks. We had amazing results and thankfully now the entire family can confidently take her on walks. She listens and follows her commands and is eager to please. Jeff worked with me on getting a schedule to train my dog as I could not do a standard class all at one time. Every class was excellent. Jeff is a wonderful trainer, he must be one of the original dog whisperers; just great with Grimm. Grimm responded very well with Jeff and began learning the wanted behavior quickly. I learned tricks and techniques on how to get Grimm to do what she is expected to easily from Jeff. Jeff is great to work with and my pup loved him! He really was great with Bella and helped with all my questions and concerns. You can tell how much Jeff loves working with dogs. Bella really did a 180 in terms of how well she behaved. Jeff teaches the owner the proper way to handle their dog which really helps in correcting bad behaviors. I found Jeff from a Google search. He had a video on his site that was influential in choosing him and I also like the philosophy of training and commands he used which were close to what I already use. Training the dog is easier than training myself! Finch is a 1 year old Irish Terrier that was mainly needing help paying attention and following commands. He pulled throughout his whole walk, distracted by dogs, kids, etc. I chose the high distraction training that was a board and train for 18 days. Jeff presented a nice video after the first week showing the commands that Finch was learning and how he had learned to perform them. Very helpful to go back and review and makes you proud of your dog and Jeff! Three weeks later Finch is still following well the commands and performing well. I have asked Jeff a few questions about the best way to remind or reinforce and he gives advice that Finch is used to and understands. Very happy with the results. Melissa

My dog Holly is a very lovable, playful, and intelligent dog, but was also very stubborn and not obedient, making her a frustration to manage at times, in the home and out in public. It was maddening for her to not respond when asked to stay or wait, and not 'come' when called--and it wasn't safe for her! Looking like she was part 'pit bull', I thought, made it all the more important than with other dogs that she be under complete control. Blue Bridge's training made an amazing difference in Holly. She is still the same curious, lovable dog, but even she seems happier and more relaxed to know her limits. Jeff did a lot of work before the training began with me to understand exactly what I needed and expected from training. I opted for the Superior dog training track, but it really felt like a custom track. Jeff gave me updates on her progress during the training. Jeff also bonds with the trainee dog by spending lots of casual time in normal home-type and backyard-type situations, as well as socializes them with his own dogs (only if appropriate). After approximately two weeks of training, it was easy for me to learn the commands from Jeff--which of course is key--all training is ongoing. Holly is equally responsive to me when I gave the commands and corrections appropriately. Once home, if she tested me a little, but I was ready with appropriate responses. If I had any question, no matter how small, Jeff was very responsive and helpful. And still is if I have any questions. When we had our 'follow up' lesson, Holly was overjoyed to see him again and I would say is an A+ student. We take her to restaurants and on PLEASANT loose leash walks. We walk her, not the other way around. Ellen

Jeff loves what he does and is great at it. We sent our 3 year old heeler mix, Xena, for a week of training, while we were away on vacation and she would have needed to be boarded anyway. She wasn't a bad dog, but was a dog with a lot of energy and we struggled with how to teach her. After just a week, it was amazing what a different dog we came home to! She was only learning basic commands (some of which she knew but wasn't consistent with), but what we learned most is that she loves to learn. When I showed up for our lesson the day I was scheduled to pick her up, it was fun watching her interact with Jeff and how she would watch him to figure out what he was going to ask her to do next. It is now so much more enjoyable to walk her without feeling like my shoulder had a workout the whole time pulling her back. She also loves when we go to the big field at Greenway and she gets to "practice" her off leash commands. She gets so excited and will now just put herself in down-stay before we even give her the commands. Terri

When my husband and I first began to consider sending Roddick to a training program I was very skeptical. Upon meeting Jeff and listening to him answer my one million questions, I quickly became impressed and excited to see what all this training could do for us. To say that Blue Bridge Dog Training exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. Jeff was so good with Roddick. He demanded obedience from Roddick in a way that did not startle or scare him. Every training session I saw Roddick complete always ended positively and with many "good boy!'s". We have now had Roddick back with us for almost a week and the progress he has made since we dropped him off at Blue Bridge 4 weeks ago is phenomenal. Our border collie puppy, Cosmo, started training with Jeff at our home when he was 12 weeks. Cosmo is energetic and strong willed but ultimately aims to please. Jeff did an outstanding job getting Cosmo to listen to him and follow his instruction. It is enjoyable to walk Cosmo now. We rescued Brick from a local shelter and she didn't act like a dog that had spent 90% of her 9 months in a cage. She was a sweet, friendly, happy character with few manners. She jumped whenever someone new came around. I run a non-profit in Nashville and take her to work with me. I needed her to act better in an office setting and eventually be able to go with me to outdoor restaurants and some of our outdoor events, as she is turning into the Foundations mascot dog. rnI knew I was not qualified to train her and contacted Jeff. Jeff was very thorough before she arrived for her training. He asked for pictures of the office and notes on our daily activities. Asked what things were more important than others. Knowing that she would be in high activity areas at times, he took her to areas that would simulate the places I would take her. We got update videos that really helped us view her progress. When we picked her up, we spent over an hour working with Jeff and Brick. We needed to be consistent with Jeff's training. He explained that she would probably "test the waters" with us and she immediately did that at the office. I just followed Jeff's directions and quickly got her back on track. The key, now, is to train myself, so the commands are second nature. We are very pleased with the results that Jeff produced with Brick. Rhonda
